Caps Win Game 1!

Boom! 1 game down, 15 to go. And like all Caps playoff games, this wasn’t easy. Got off to a 3-0 lead in the first, had 4 total shots in the 2nd period, and then the Canes cut it to 3-2 in the 3rd. Wouldn’t be the NHL playoffs without a minor heart attack in every game. But hey, you’ll take a win any way you can get it. The Canes played tough, but it just wasn’t enough to overcome the 3-0 hole the Caps put them in.

Backstrom played awesome tonight, Ovi got a goal, and the Caps PK came up huge late to seal the deal.

So yeah, feels good to get the first win of the series. My prediction was Caps in 5, and I still like that. We’ll be back for game 2 on Saturday.
